Dwight M. Warner
The first Phi Chi pledge in 1921, in the Charter Chapter was Dwight M. Warner who later became a Regent. His contributions to the Fraternity were truly outstanding. His untimely death in a car accident in 1947 was a great loss. His love for the Fraternity has been memorialized through the scholarships his late sister, Helen Warner, has provided. The interest from her $15,000 grant to us in 1982 enables Phi Chi's to receive substantial grants each April at out Awards Banquet.

UWW FOUNDATION TAX ID# 39 6081189
The Dwight Warner Scholarship Fund was established in 1982 with a donation of $15,000 to the UWW Foundation by Helen Warner in memory of her brother Dwight Warner, the first pledge of Phi Chi Epsilon. The intent was to benefit members of Phi Chi Epsilon that met conditions established by the scholarship. Only interest from the core contribution can be used for award distribution. Dr. Clayton Drullard and Jim Trier comprised the original team that reviewed and awarded this scholarship to men that applied; that team has been expanded to include Jon Kachel, Randy Cruse, Ken Johnson and the Active Chapter’s Faculty Advisor.
The current core balance is $29,828.97 after some donations. The interest available for distribution (as of this writting) is $1,193.16. Interest is paid on both the core and money availiable for distribution equally, but accrures in the distribution amount. Applicants must apply by February of each year and are awarded the following April.
Several Brother Alumni had expressed concern over any event that Phi Chi Epsilon, for reasons out of our control, might be removed from UW-Whitewater. What might happen to the core contribution and/or future donations? The Foundation has agreed and implemented a change in the name to permanently link the Scholarship name to Phi Chi Epsilon. Further, the GENERAL CONDITIONS have been amended to include as a consideration for award, “a relative or descendant … or who provides a letter of recommendation from a past member.” This would also open consideration for both male and female candidates in that event.
