HAPPY HOLIDAY’S PHI CHI
As I have already missed a THANKSGIVING GREETING may I take this opportunity to get ahead of the ball by extending my wishes for CHRISTMAS AND THE NEW YEAR. It’s truly amazing how the aging process stretches each hour of the day, but compresses any other time measurement – day, week or month – into a hectic mess
Coming from an era in which many of our Active members were also active members of athletic teams we need a shout out for the WARHAWK Football team and Coach Kevin Bullis. It’s been a great year for the WARHAWKS going undefeated and Conference Champs, but now their dominance in the DIII Playoff’s, winning this last weekend 45-0 over DePauw. There’s still challenges ahead – but it’s looking promising GO WARHAWKS!
CHANGES AHEAD FOR THE B2B
I know that Stan Kassube and the new officers extend the best to the Brothers of Phi Chi Epsilon. As you may know Rick Cozatt and I will vacate the Brother to Broth

I’LL SEE YOU AT THE QUASQUICENTENNIAL
Here is the challenge – 25 years from now we’ll get together with 25 more Homecomings, Western Lakes golf outings and other various gatherings in the book to celebrate a centennial I can’t even pronounce!
We faced some strong headwinds. There were times we feared we might have to cancel our CENTENNIAL, but with the support of staff from the Alumni Office and the Stadium we were able to “BOOK” the celebration in the History of Phi Chi Epsilon. We had a healthy showing at the game on September 18th and saw the WARHAWKS win 39 to 7 over the VIKINGS of Berry GA. The dinner was lightly attended with less than 50 dinners served. However, the conversation was great and the SKUNKS provided a great show. There are great pictures on the web site and Facebook as well as the historical video review provided by Tom Hughes.
Our programing was limited, but included recognition of the addition of three member

WESTERN LAKES 2021
For those of you that attended it was a great day. Early on we were called in because of weather conditions but that only lasted a quarter hour and just allowed a bit more visiting. The turnout was the largest we have had and shouted out “this is Phi Chi Brotherhood”. Registration was hectic and because of the turnout reenforced the need to have all pay dues prior to the event. Greg Essig and Ben Kiesow did a great job with some fun raffles and the evening dinner and awards made sure all had the opportunity to earn a prize – we even had a HOLE IN ONE by Brother Fries. Ben will be getting out the details shortly.

EXCITING NEWS FOR WARHAWK FOOTBALL
Dick Enstad reports the following: According to a local website UW-LaCrosse quarterback Evan Lewandowski will be transferring to UW-Whitewater.
The record setting QB had initially committed to Maryland on May 1 where he would have had to sit out one academic year. In the meantime, the Terps picked up Taulia Tagovailoa from Alabama. He is the brother of Tua who is now with the Miami Dolphins. This factored in with two returning quarterbacks at Maryland caused Lewandowski to change his mind.
Evan hails from nearby Lake Zurich, IL and nearly engineered an upset of the No. 3 Warhawks last fall. UW-L lost that one 21-17.
Looks like an exciting year if it isn’t canceled. Hope to see you at the September 12th St. Xavier game and perhaps more!

HAPPY JULY 4TH
I’m really getting into this retirement gig! It’s been about 14 years now and without a newspaper I’m really into the 6 Saturday and 1 Sunday week! It has its drawbacks like not really knowing what day it is, let alone the date! So, I prepare for my annual physical – not by losing weight but making sure I can answer the geriatric questions like what’s the date, who is president and why are you here a week ahead of time!? Aha, the good life!
WHAT’S NEXT
WESTERN LAKES GOLF – RESCHEDULED TO SATURDAY, AUGUST 15TH.
With the confusion and business dislocations that have resulted from the COVID disruption we have to do what Phi Chi has done for 99 years -FLEX. We are aware of and appreciate the personal problems this can and has created and thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
So, let’s go over the detail Brother Ben has put together:
