THE PUSH BACK ON DUES

Let’s turn on the way back machine!  In the 60’s, we had two dues levels; the first was social which meant you could participate in anything Phi Chi, the other allowed you to wear your colors and participate in meetings but not any Social Event.

If you went through the induction process you are recognized as a Phi Chi in posterity.   If you want to participate in Phi Chi Alumni sponsored events you need to be a member in good standing – have paid your dues.  We would hope that all Alum would participate in a sense of fraternal spirit, but recognize that distance, age or other factors could impact our commitment to “Phi Chi till I die”. It’s a particularly sad situation to report that at our largest event only 56% of participants paid dues, many never paid dues even when they were $20 and a significant number were students since the Active Chapter first used the Building Corp Funds to cover the insurance expense, a benefit of approximately $90 per year of Active Membership per member.

Your reasons for deciding you can’t pay our dues reside with you.  WE would hope our decision to attempt to keep this organization going and in good financial shape, is not disparaged by those that don’t agree with these efforts.
