CAN YOU SPARE A ROUND OF GOLF
Over the last several months I’ve been talking with the Leadership in Florida and Arizona about doing something for the GOLF ADICTED PHI CHI’S in our WINTER SEASONAL STATES. Over the COVID PERIOD the significant problem was finding a large enough mask to wrap around individual 4-sums so that they could golf together; there were delays and cancelations of our 100th programing because of restrictions.
Today it’s a different story. A population shift of those seeking shelter from seasonal cold and the cold hand of state taxation has created problems of excess population in many southern states. Where our Brothers in past years could wake and walk out to their community course for their daily fix they currently find a sign-up sheet for availability three weeks in the future.
We don’t have a solution BUT I would suggest -if you’ve got to stick that “T” in the ground you contact the following :
In Florida contact Bob Schommer email (bobschommer@hotmail.com) phone home 262-353-5782, cell 239-768-2856
Bob has secured tee times for 16 golfers on March 23rd starting at 10:03; a minimum of 12 golfers are required to maintain the rate of $49.
In Arizona contact Vince Tranchita email (vovince@aol.com) phone 602-695-8498
Vince has not set a date at this point but local Phi Chi’s are pushing for the first week of April.
Both Vince and Bob expressed concerns about room rates and associated travel costs and suggest you be aware of the change from past years.
