THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE TOUGH TO WRITE ABOUT NOTHING!
It’s been awhile since I’ve attempted to put out the B2B – not much of anything going on for Phi Chi and perhaps much of the world. But then a couple of notes dropped into my email that put a positive spin on what’s important in our lives.
I’m not sure of the origin source of the conversation but it might have been conversation between Ron Bailey and Dan Alvarez, roommates at the House in the 60’s. Somewhere in the conversation Dan commented on his joining the Marines “to see the world” and we know what that meant in the era of Vietnam! What struck me was the use of our laughable nicknames in the era – so offensive in today’s counter culture, but endearing at the time.
The letters of WWII to Phi Chi’s of the period are unfortunately lost to the fires of a couple of frat houses. In recognition of and to build a history of service records we initiated the STAR-SPANGLED PHI CHI’S. Brother Ron Bailey (firstname.lastname@example.org) over sees this list, but it still requires your input to fill in your information. If you have served and are not on the list contact Ron and join the Honorary. You can access the list from the Home Page / Brother Information / STAR-SPANGLED PHI CHI’S.
OOO-RAH TO THOSE THAT SERVED THIS PAST VETRANS DAY!
The second email was from Brother Dave and Linda Cox. It was a simple recognition of a family gathering, on a beautiful day in Ohio. It was simply FAMILY sharing that joy with the extended family of Phi Chi. I have to thank Dave and Linda for the personal Pick Me Up! In getting the picture on the HOME PAGE to share with Dave’s era Brothers, Brother Cozatt suggested a way to encourage others to share a family picture. Simply send Rick a Family Picture to post on NEW 11/19/2020. At the end of the year we will make a drawing from the names and award that member a free membership for 2021 – our 100th. So, crank out the Brownie and get a good one – through all this it is still all about family – just delayed. You can view the post on the Home Page, just scroll down to NEW 11/19/2020 post.
HAPPY AND SAFE THANKS GIVING TO FAMILY PHI CHI!
